Notes, Notes, Notes

It’s the easiest way to make a blog entry when we can’t decide what to write about!!! Some throwaway one-liners!
Your Philadelphia Phillies struggled last night, twice grounding out with the bases loaded in the 1st inning, which set the tone for the rest of the night. They ended up losing 5-3 to the Padres, and are now 38-46. Perhaps the only suspect move that Charlie Manuel had all night was pinch-hitting Abraham Nunez (he of the 144 average with no patience and power) for Carlos Ruiz in the 9th inning for no real reason at all. Ruiz had given closer Trevor Hoffman a run for his money the night before, and they might as well have let him go at it again…but no. Abe had to get his hacks, and he struck out on three pitches.
The Lehigh Valley needs light rail. Opponents say that widening roads will fix all…because that always works. Sign a petition for light rail here.
Pedro goes on the DL, and everyone assumes he’s just skipping the all-star break. Somehow, we doubt it, although a sore hip is a very hard injury to discredit. It has all the makings of an NBA injured list job where the team finds ‘bursitis’ in order to keep a 13th player. Stay tuned.
Another reason to hate artificial turf: you can’t use fireworks on it. For whatever reason local high schools are increasingly buying artifical turf for their football fields, and this has caused a ripple effect by barring local fairs from using the fields for such evil purposes as fireworks on the 4th of July.
Best way for an old man to stave off a robbery? Fake a heart attack.
STOP TALKING ABOUT TERRELL OWENS! No link here, just stop. Get over it, everybody.
John Grogan of the Inky writes about…puppies. Didn’t he write a book about his dog dying? Guess he’s just playing into his audience, but how is this news?
Hey Chris,
Just wanted to say I like this blog and your work on The Good Phight…hope all is well. Take care.
Hey man, thanks for reading this, I hope you comment more.
I’m doing well, how about yourself?
Chris,
No problem…glad things are going well and I did not even realize you had created this nice little corner of the interweb…
Things are ok, still dealing with my father’s passing recently, but one step at a time..take care.
