I was unable to get ESPN 2 because of where I’m currently located, but I was able to get the boxscore of the game. The first thing I read was this:
Darrin Govens led the Hawks (13-10) with eight points
Oof. Not a good sign. The Hawks scored 39 points total against the Wildcats on 13 of 50 shooting. Villanova scored only 56, but it was enough for the victory. Quite a sad outcome. 6 assists to 21 turnovers didn’t help matters, likely resulting in a lot of long shots from guys who couldn’t make them.
Oh well, there’s still the rematch later this season. Apparently not
