Yes, he still is. I wrote about this before, but it bears mentioning it again. It’s just a SHTICK PEOPLE!!! Is this guy funny? To each his own, but look at his awful set below. HACK joke after HACK joke. Good for him that he found a gimmick that gets him paid, but let’s not act like he’s actually good or something.

This video is obviously from very early in his career. Comics, just like any profession, get better with practice. His jokes are still almost the same concept, so obviously his opinion is not an act. And accents are something that many people speak with because thats how they feel comfortable. I speak with a Wisconsin accent not because I have to but because that’s the way I feel comfortable. Not to mention that if you’ve ever seen him in real life you’d know he really is a redneck.
It’s amazing how a new package can make the same crap product seem shiny and new. While I semi-enjoyed his well practiced set in Blue Collar Comedy tour as I looked up more of his comedy I saw more that was like this. Senseless jokes that really aren’t that funny. His fascination with flatulence should garner some type of a world record. At least this clip doesn’t have any fart jokes. He can’t string together more than 2 jokes…
