The Sixers up and rolled past the Orlando Magic this past night 101-89. They got up early and never let the Magic take the lead, burying them and not letting them get within spitting distance. Willie Green, Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala decided to score 76 points between the three of them and carry the Philadelphia 76ers on their backs. They also combined for 21 assists. The bench didn’t exactly do much, but the three-headed monster did shoot 29-54 total. Not bad. My boy Sammy Dalembert also contributed 12 boards.
The Sixers are now 26-32 and have cemented their hold on the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference. Their below .500 record may indeed get them into the playoffs where they would likely get bounced out by Detroit Pistons or Boston Celtics. But hey, it’s better than not getting there, I guess.

Sarah Silverman revealed something quite interesting on her boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel’s show….she’s fucking Matt Damon! Watch her confession:
But don’t worry folks, Kimmel got back at her, and at Damon, by getting him some. Some of Ben Affleck!!!! Watch:
What now Matt?
Lidge, Philadelphia’s biggest offseason acquisition, limped off the field Saturday after injuring his knee when he caught a spike in the mound on his first pitch of batting practice. Doctors removed torn cartilage from the same knee in October.
The 31-year-old right-hander was expected to return to Philadelphia on Sunday for surgery Monday that would sideline him for three to six weeks. The Phillies open the season at home March 31 against Washington.
OMGZ LOL LMFAO!
Remember the episode where the gang all taught class for no reason at all?!?! And Zack was principal?!?! And Bayside was always playing Valley in football?!?!!? OMG OMG I DO I DO
Just take the 8th seed from both conferences right now (Tuesday night at 10pm) and compare their records. The Philadelphia 76ers are 23-30 and on the verge of losing another to the Minnesota Freakin’ Timberwolves. The Sixers’ winning percentage is 43.4%. Now, the 8th seed of the West are the Denver Nuggets. They hold a 32-20 record and a 61.5% winning percentage. Uh, yeah. Only 5 teams in the West even have losing records. And one of those teams, the Sacremento Kings, actually has a winning record against the East.
So the East is pretty horrible, right? Or the West is just that damn good? Take your pick. But look at it another way. The 9th best team in the West is only 4.5 games off of the conference-best New Orleans Hornets. The 9th best team in the East is 19.5 games off pace from 1st place Boston. Hell, 3rd place Orlando is 10 games back! This divide is just sick. It’s cyclical, of course, but this cycle is just lasting longer and longer and longer. The conference divide has actually gotten greater during this season, and deals that send Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks don’t do anything to stop that.
I oddly enjoy this great divide, if only because it gives a Sixers fan such as myself faint hope. Some may say it’s fake hope, but it’s hope nonetheless. Hope that this team is playoff bound and we will see meaningful basketball this season, even if we are simply fodder for the Boston Celtics. Then another side of me is disappointed at the thought of how much we would suck if we swapped places with a team like the Kings. This divide also likely frustrates fans in cities like Houston, Denver, and Golden State, who root for teams that aren’t any worse than the Orlando Magic, but the Magic will get to face a sub .500 team in the playoffs while these teams go against the Spurs and Hornets and Suns.
Sometimes the vast inequity between the two conferences is simply tough to swallow. It creates the terrific Western Conference playoffs, but the maddeningly boring Eastern Conference bracket as well. There is no great solution to this mess; indeed, we must simply sit back and enjoy the great basketball and suffer the bad. This cycle WILL end. It just has to end sometime, doesn’t it?

“Without Santana, we felt as a team that we had a chance to win in our division,” Beltran said. “With him now, I have no doubt that we are going to win in our division. I have no doubt in that.”
And then, less than a minute later, the cherry, whipped cream and chocolate sauce all in one.
“So this year, to Jimmy Rollins: We are the team to beat.”
*cough*
Remember when the first New Class ran the Max?!??!?! OMG IT WUZ AWESOME!!!
First-term Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-PA) voted with his conscience against a terrible anti-American and anti-Philadelphia bill which passed in Congress(courtesy PWD):
On Wednesday, the House passed a resolution congratulating the New York Giants on winning this year’s Super Bowl “and completing one of the most remarkable postseason runs in professional sports history.”
The resolution passed by a vote of 412 to 1.
Murphy, a diehard Eagles fan who worked at Veterans Stadium as a security guard when he was 16, was the only House member to vote against it.
“As a former 700-level security guard and lifelong Eagles fan, I couldn’t, in good conscience, vote for the New York Giants,” Murphy said Thursday. “The only thing worse would have been a resolution honoring the Dallas Cowboys.”
The Giants shocked the sports world when they defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII on Feb. 3. The upset spoiled the Patriots’ quest to become the NFL’s first undefeated Super Bowl winner since the Miami Dolphins won the Super Bowl in 1972.
Thank you Patrick Murphy. He refused to cowtow to special interests and the New York Giants lobby and instead stood up for his principles. This man deserves to represent Bucks County, Pennsylvania. and the nation for years to come. I salute you good sir.
Obama v McCain

BOOK IT!
This is basically the young (40s is young in national politics) versus old (70s is pretty old). Obama has the youngsters behind him, keeps brining in more and more Democrats, and has a message of ‘hope’. McCain’s speech tonight had old man John Warner, and no one else under the age of 50, up there with him, and called hope ‘rhetoric’ and ‘platitudes’. It’s going to be tough, in my opinion, to run AGAINST hope and to run as the anti-hope candidate. I realize McCain is all about tough choices and straight talk, but this talk may be too straight for him to overcome. McCain has a lot of experience, but with that experience comes a lot of votes and positions that can come back to haunt him. Just look at how his own party has been treating his impending nomination. Obama’s inexperienced, but his amazing orator skills are also slowly stepping to the side as he starts to bring in more and more of his views on the future and on what he thinks our country can accomplish. He doesn’t need much beyond so-called rhetoric to beat Hilary Clinton, but in the main election he will need to appeal to voters looking for more substance. And I think he can do that.
But that’s just my view, and what the hell do I know? Any opinions out there? Am I stepping over Clinton too soon?
Seems CBS3 had a minute to fill…
One day. Let’s hear it Roger.

Philly.com had a poll up over the weekend which asked which Western Conference team had the best pickup. It broke down thusly:
| 1. Los Angeles getting Pau Gasol | |
| 1285 (63.1%) | |
| 2. Golden State getting Chris Webber | |
| 24 (1.2%) | |
| 3. Phoenix getting Shaquille O’Neal | |
| 349 (17.1%) | |
| 4. San Antonio getting Damon Stoudamire | |
| 105 (5.2%) | |
| 5. Utah getting Kyle Korver | |
| 272 (13.4%) | |
Yep. Chris Webber got 24 votes. I think 20 of them were friends and relatives with access to the internet. Sorry Chris, I guess you just didn’t make an impact. Now, if the question was relating to who will be the first to become unhappy in his state role, Chris would likely top the list.
At the Philadelphia Police Department’s website. They put up pictures and profiles of the offenders in order to try and catch these guys (and two gals). So check for anyone you might know and might be able to call in. It’s all anonymous and there’s no catch. Do it!
