Give Matt Stairs a fastball over the plate and watch him produce. Jonathan Broxton challenged Stairs in the eighth inning, to his and his team’s peril. It cemented the Phillies 3-1 series lead, and ensured that Cole Hamels will be pitching for the NLCS clincher tomorrow.
Oh, and Shane Victorino. The guy that everybody in LA hates for some reason. The guy that’s taking the playoffs by storm on offense and defense with grand slams and leaping catches. His 2 run homer, which tied the game at 5-5 earlier in the eighth inning, silenced the Dodgers faithful. This may officially cement him as the hero of October.
