Remember the time in 1993 when the Phillies were in the World Series and lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in six games? We all remember the reason: There was a hat on the Billy Penn Statue atop City Hall. And when the Flyers lost? It was because of that damn jersey! And the Sixers? The Eagles? We all know the reason!
Here’s the deal. Stop being stupid, people. It’s a fun little thing so ENJOY IT. Put the hat on Mr. Penn and shut up about a ‘jinx’ or a ‘curse’. Maybe if those teams played better they’d have won. And if they lose…go ahead and blame the hat if it makes you sleep better at night. Deep down in places you don’t like to talk about you will know what really went down, what really caused a World Series loss, and it wasn’t a damned giant Phillies hat. It was because I didn’t do the everybody hits dance before every batter.
please do not put the phillies hat on old Will’s head , It wasn’t there for the wins we’ve gotten ,so don’t jinx them by changing it now. If they win ,then put it up there . But for now ,please leave him be.
