LOST: Jacob and Esau

14 May

Esau, twin of Jacob:

The Bible identifies Esau as the fraternal twin brother of Jacob, the grandson of  Abraham. Jacob became the father of the Israelites after God (Genesis 35:10) renamed Jacob “Israel.” Thus Esau shared his mother’s womb together with the founder of the nation of Israel. See Genesis 25. Although Esau was Isaac’s first-born entitled to inherit Isaac’s wealth and blessing, Esau sold his birthright to his younger brother Jacob (Israel) for a pot of stew. The descendants of Esau and Israel led divergent paths with Edom settling east of modern day Israel forming tribal chiefs while Jacob traveled all of Israel, his inheritance.

    There is more to the story to Jacob and Esau than most understand. What is even more amazing, is the story is about “humanity”… all of us, you and me. What the writers of LOST are touching on, is a story that is unfolding in all of us. We are the ones that are LOST, humanity has forgotten who they are, but the TRUTH will set you free. THE CALLING A VOICE IN THE DEAD WOODS by Jacob Israel, is more than just a fiction, there is something, otherwordly about it. Strange the timing of this all.

    The bible also described Esau as hairy and Jacob as smooth skinned

    yes. i don’t know very much about the bible…but my question is: why esau was the ‘bad twin’?….’cause even in genesis, we can see that he forgiven jacob, after all…

    I don’t think it’s so much that he’s the “bad” twin, but that he is simply not the one who receives Isaac’s blessing (through cunning and plotting of their mom, Rebekah). And he loses his birthright for a pot of stew. So, not really bad but… unfortunate? slow? outwitted?

    where does Locke fit into this all? is it something as simple as Esau using Locke’s uhmm…spirit? or does Locke hold some sort of signifigant role yet to play? is the smoke monster in on it with Esau? is the island involved somehow? does the island want a change? is esau the monster? jacob may be the yin to esau’s yang? just like the symbol of the dharma initiative? all valid questions. does anyone have any ideas they’d like to share?

    esau is the smoke monster it’s as simple as that, the smoke monster took the form of Lock as a dead man and that is that.

    Jacob had a son named Benjamin, among 11 others. The name Jacob can be traslated as “heel”. Also it has been explorerd that Jacob’s people split into the Iserealites, while Esau became the Edomites (or Romans, or Chistians). Great show.

    esau was supposed to recieve his inheritance just like the children of God will recieve their inheritance: the Kingdom: but esau sold out for a little bit of pleasure, meaning once you truly know salvation, don’t throw it away just to enjoy something one more time even something you feel is nothing big.when you have true salvation, 1john will tell you that we do not sin knowingly because there is no sin in God . esau did not care about the inheritance or it would have been worth more than a bowl of stew, so lets hope salvation is worth more than something simple to you. I hope you get the picture here. God bless you and keep the faith

    also jacobs blessing pertains to Jesus. read it closely. Jesus was an only child by Mary but Mary had other sons by Joseph .thus His mothers sons will bow down to Him

    Divergent Paths: Jacob was blessed by God, Jacob became Israel, Israel seeded the Jewish peoples, and Judaism seeded Christianity and the worship of the Christ. On the contrary Esau was cursed by God, Esau became Edom, Esau seeded the Arab nations, Arabs seeded Islam and the worship of Allah. Where Christianity and Islam are opposites. Christianity- The God of creation. Islam – The Moon god of Mecca,
    ON ONE HAND:
    Christ of the virgin birth is, Love and loves all peoples, Truth, Patience, the Way to the Father, our Salvation, Salvation is a gift, Emanuel God With Us, God of creation without limits in whom all Biblical prophesies are fulfilled, Loves all peoples but a respecter of none, righteous, wants none to perish, the author of our faith who knew no sin and can-not cohabitate with evil.

    ON THE OTHER HAND;
    Allah is Hatred of diversity, Calls for the murder of innocent people that will not conform, Liar and promotes lying in its teaching, Jealousy, perpetual hatred, There is no way to the Father because they reject the Trinity taught in the bible, a Muslims must earn their way to heaven by killing innocent peoples. Salvation is Self-earned by killing. Allah is limited to the god of the Moon (Or of the Caldees, Abraham’s home land where Allah was the most popular pagan god and his name is never mentioned in Biblical scripture. For this reason God called Abraham out of Or of the Caldees where God, the one true living God of all creation revealed himself to his people). The author of Islam was self-professed and claimed to be demon possessed for a time in his life. Allah is described in the Quran the perfect Opposite of Christ.
