Game 2: Yeah, So They Forgot They Could Actually Cross Home Plate

23 Oct

The World Series is now tied at one game each, as the Tampa Bay Rays won 4-2 in game two, preventing the Phillies from heading back to Philadelphia with the momentum.  The Phillies and Rays split down in St. Petersburg, which is what most Phillies fans anticipated.  However, it was frustrating to see the Phillies go down in game two by stranding eleven baserunners.  Brett Myers didn’t exactly thrill at the mound, giving up four runs (three earned runs), allowing seven hits, walking three, and striking out only two.  He didn’t blow up, but he didn’t bring ‘it’.

All in all, an expected result.  The Phillies now send Jamie Moyer to the mound for game three in Philadelphia. Oh boy, let’s hope it’s second half Jamie Moyer and not playoff Jamie Moyer.
